Innovis crossbred ewes
Innovis Aberdale and Aberfield crossbred ewe lambs offer commercial lamb producers the opportunity to maintain or increase production outputs from prolific but compact ewes that are capable of rearing twins off grass.
Aberdale and Aberfield crossbred ewes produced from our dedicated breeding programmes are:
- Compact and hardy
- Selected for maternal traits with excellent mothering behaviour at lambing
- Will achieve a lambing percentage of 180-200%
- Will produce 19Kg lambs with a better conformation than current systems.
- Should be able to produce in excess of 5 crops.
- Ewe lambs can be mated at 60% of their mature weight and will produce prime lambs for the market.
Innovis Aberdale - Robust and productive
Crossbred ewes that will achieve a lambing percentage of 180-200% from a relatively low cost base with no requirement for flushing. Autumn grass can then be made available for other stock groups or for use as deferred grazing later in the winter. The Aberdale crossbred is particularly well suited to lambing outside on low input grass based systems.

Innovis Aberfield - Measured performance
These compact crossbred ewes can achieve a lambing percentage of 180% from a relatively low cost base. Aberfield ewes benefit from traditional autumn flushing but can rear twins from a low input, grass-based system with no requirement for creep feeding.

Quality and traceability
All Innovis crossbred ewe lambs are reared on contract to specified target criteria and we make every effort to match your particular requirements for size and type with ewe lambs from one or two of our dedicated producers. Health audits also enable us to match the health profile of your commercial flock with that of your ewe lamb producer. We aim to establish a reliable and long-term supply of ewe lambs from the same producer year on year.
